Wakefield was led by one of Spangler&#;s daughters, Anna Spangler Nelson, and her husband Tom Nelson as well as Nelson&#;s brother, Steve, who served as managing partner for 14 years.

Anna Spangler Nelson is a member of the UNC Board of Governors.
