    HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough homeowner was killed by a falling tree while he was helping to cut it down Sunday morning, police reported.

    Frank Abate Jr., 68, was helping to cut a tree on his property when the tree began to fall as he was moving away, said police.

    The falling tree hit Abate Jr.

    in the head, causing a traumatic head injury, police said.
